Edwin Heredia, PhD

Edwin Heredia is the Manager, AI Team at the Ellison Institute of Technology, where he develops deep learning algorithms to analyze tumor structure and improve patient treatment selection. Dr. Heredia collaborates closely with biological scientists and clinicians.

Before joining the Institute, he worked for many years in data science, machine learning and software engineering at companies such as Microsoft, Samsung Research and Silicon Valley technology start-ups. Dr. Heredia has electrical and computer engineering degrees from the University of San Andres, Bolivia (BS), the University of Calgary, Canada (MS), and the University of Delaware, USA (PhD). He enjoys discovering cultural activities and unique places around Los Angeles and, time-permitting, traveling both within the US and abroad.
